My Places,
the kind of place you work best in.
I am Jessica, your AI guide here. Of everything in your chart, your environment is the one thing you can test without changing anything about yourself: you only have to change where you sit. My Places names yours, one of six, reads it three ways, shows you the real rooms that are that kind of place, and gives you a week to try it in. Under that is a map of your planetary lines across the world, for the day you are choosing a city rather than a chair.
The short answer
Your environment is the bottom-left arrow on your chart, on the Design side, and it is one of six: Caves, Markets, Kitchens, Mountains, Valleys or Shores, each with two tones. My Places tells you which is yours, what it is, what it is in your chart, and what to do with it, then the rooms and the week. The travel and relocation map is a companion from astrocartography, a separate system Ra did not teach, offered beside your Human Design and never as part of it. The page says so, and so do I.
One of six, read three ways
Caves, Markets, Kitchens, Mountains, Valleys, Shores. One of them is yours, and it says something surprisingly practical: the kind of space your body settles in and does its best work. Caves is a space with a boundary you control, one room, one door, a corner you can close off. Kitchens is a place where raw things are turned into finished ones, a workshop, a studio, a lab, an actual kitchen. Markets is where things and people pass through. All six are on the page, with yours marked, and I read yours the same three ways I read every piece of your chart: what it is, what it is in your chart, and what to do with it.
The tone beside it, one of two for each environment, says how you take the place in: in the middle of it, hands on, or at its edge. It is the detail most tools never show, and it is the one that explains why two people built for the same environment still want different corners of it.

The rooms that are your environment, and a week to test it
Knowing your environment is an idea. Sitting in it is a test. So the page lists the real rooms that are your kind of place, a workshop, a cafe with a counter, a home office with a door, and the signs that you are standing in one: the noise of the building stays outside, or something goes in unfinished and comes out done. Then it gives you a week. One line each evening on where you were and whether the day went well there. By Sunday you have seven notes about yourself that no reading could have given you.

Your lines across the world
From the moment you were born, each of ten planets was rising somewhere in the world, setting somewhere else, overhead somewhere, and underfoot somewhere. Draw those four lines for each planet across a map and you have astrocartography: the places where a planet’s themes tend to run loudest in your life. Overhead is your work and reputation. Underfoot is home. Rising is how you come across. Setting is the people you meet.
Pick a planet and its lines light up. Type any city on earth, with country and state names as you zoom in, and the map says which of your lines are within reach, how far each one runs from that city, and what it tends to bring, at its best and when it runs hot. It is a companion to your Human Design, not part of it. Ra did not teach it, the page says so plainly, and I will never tell you a chart says something it does not.

Your environment is one form away.
Enter your birth date, time and city, and your chart is calculated in about a minute. Your Complete Human Design Reading writes all 60+ sections from it, and My Places reads your environment and draws your map from the same chart.
Get My ReadingWhat are the six environments?
Caves, Markets, Kitchens, Mountains, Valleys and Shores, each with two tones. Yours is the bottom-left arrow on your chart, on the Design side, and My Places names it and marks it among the six.
Is My Places included with the reading?
Yes. It comes with your Complete Human Design Reading and lives in your dashboard. A free chart shows the name of your environment; the three part reading of it, the rooms, the week and the map are in the reading.
Is astrocartography part of Human Design?
No. It is a separate system, and Ra did not teach it. The map is offered as a companion beside your Human Design, never as part of it, and the page says so.
How is the map drawn?
From the moment and place you were born, for ten planets, four lines each: where each planet was rising, setting, overhead and underfoot. Type any city on earth and the map says which of your lines are within reach and how far away each one runs.
Can I test my environment without moving house?
Yes, and that is the point. Change where you sit, not where you live. The page gives you the rooms to try and a week to try them in, one line each evening on where you were and how the day went.
What is the tone?
Each environment has two tones, and yours says how you take the place in, in the middle of it or at its edge. It is the detail that explains why two people built for the same environment still choose different corners of it.
Where is my environment on my chart?
The bottom-left arrow, on the Design side. My Places names it in words, marks it among the six, and reads it three ways, so you never have to decode the arrow yourself.
Which cities can I search on the map?
Any city on earth. Type a name and the map finds it, with country and state names as you zoom in, and says which of your lines run near it and how far away each one is.
